Until 1983 my artwork was sold in the name of
Margarette A.Reynolds, After my divorce I changed my name back to my family name of Ann M.Carpenter.
Educated in Tasmania, When I was 8 I received my first colouring-in prize from the ‘Melbourne Sun’ Newspaper and at the age of 10 received a first prize for water colour at the Carrick Art Show in 1955. I won various art awards until I finished school at 15 entering into the workforce with no free time for hobbies.
After moving to the Pilbara in 1975 I was fascinated with the terrain and started with my art once again, Working in Oil, Charcoal, Pencil, Ink and Water
colour. Using the Shire Art Shows to display my work, also gaining recognition and prizes along the way and I really enjoyed winning “The Peoples Choice Awards: In 1985 I was commissioned to do a set of 8 pencil Drawings of “Munda Station” and the original drawings where printed for 500 sets of postcards all were sold.
Moving to Geraldton in 1989 I have been entering both Chapman Valley and Northampton Shows gaining first and second places in all of the mediums entered. Now retired I have more time to spend on my hobbies mostly doing only commissioned artwork, Hardanger, Nordic Embroideries and gardening.
