Meagan creates artworks using mixed media, textiles and paints, as well
as dyeing, screen printing and lino carving. She is inspired by memories
of the fabrics of her childhood home, which had an African theme, and
by her own training at Curtin University where she specialized in the
art mediums of fibers and painting.
In her teaching environment
at Geraldton Grammar, Meagan is in awe of how children collectively use a
range of art elements, line, shape, texture and pattern, with
simplicity and naivety. Family seaside camping adventures have provided
her with a rich source of ideas involving 'coastal life'.
says "I hope to make the viewer pause for a moment, captured by beauty
that is modestly abstract and puzzling, yet familiar, tangible and
decorative". Art and Artists that inspire her are Japanese printing
methods and Henri Matisse.
Meagan is represented in WA
exclusively by Latitude Gallery, as a emerging artist her work is very
collectible for the astute investor.
