Glenis Gray lives on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. She was initially an Art teacher in the UK with Primary, Secondary an Remedial students. She deviated into Sales and Marketing before emigrating to Australia in 1985. Although always involved with life drawing, even with a young family, the point of re-ignition for her artwork came on her return to Australia after some 3-4 years in the Philippines.
Since then she has exhibited extensively locally and as a finalist in many Major Art Awards.
Her practice as a mixed media artist is based in Flaxton on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
"Drawing is the honesty of art. To draw does not mean simply reproduce contours: drawing does not merely consist of line. Drawing is also expression, the inner form, the plane and modelling. See what remains after that. Drawing includes three and a half quarters of the content of painting."
Jean-Auguste Ingres 1780-1867
